~7~
Netzach/Victory

Picture
Your Decanate Number is 7. This corresponds to the 7th sphere of the Tree of Life called Netzach or Victory. The 7th sphere is all about fortitude, that is inner fortitude, and also retreat from hardship, retirement, introversion, and finding inner strength in the face of  difficult odds.

The 7th sphere is the sphere of "going it alone" and is strongly individual, though it also has a great sensitivity and care for its family, both physical and spiritual. 7s make really good finishers, refiners, and are naturally intuitive. This makes them idiosyncratic with usually many diverse skills. The only issue may be ambivalence and not knowing which direction to take.

Through their intuition, 7s can predict problems and therefore avoid them before they happen. As opposed to the outer directed and sometimes superficial nature of 6s, 7s always turn within and contemplate their own nature and also the nature of the Universe. Because of this, the 7 must overcome self doubt and hesitation when encountering a problem or decision. It is important for 7s to find support for their visions because their natural rebelliousness, non conformity and also their knowledge of negativity may turn into
frozen or fossilized pessimism. They should turn such energy into productivity and find a way to help the world instead of feeling aways against it in some way.

All 7s have an "against the grain" nature being so individualistic, which partly has to do with the numerological connection to the 16th Major Arcana card, The Tower. This is a very good thing, though it may lead to an inordinate amount of stasis and retreat. But through deep persistent research the 7 usually finds what others have missed and it is important to share such things and, again, to find support for their natural intuitive abilities, visions, and skills.  Being such a natural individualistic force, 7s can empower others to become more individualistic themselves, that is to focus on themselves and their own talents and abilities. This can make them excellent psychologists and sociologists.

The 7th Major Arcana card corresponding to the 7th sphere is The Chariot. This is a very feminine card and deals with the past, introspection, the home, the mother, and other feminine qualities like fluidity and grace. The Chariot is also a significant archetype indicating theater, cinema and acting. Since it is the card of the cardinal water sign Cancer, The Chariot is a card representing the ability of consciousness to fit the shape of different vessels. Hence, one can think of it as being the ideal of
watery and fluid capabilities. This is why 7s can be good at many different things and can also make great actors due to their ability to assume different roles, that is, to take the shape different vessels. The Hebrew letter associated with The Chariot is Cheth, ח, which means "fence" or "enclosure" and may be thought of as the vessel in which the water (consciousness) takes shape. If a 7 does not feel aligned with acting, they also work well behind the scenes in production and directing. They are subtle and can be very good at running the show from afar and making their presence felt that way instead of being out front in the limelight.

As stated, the 7 is also numerologically connected to the 16th Major Arcana card, The Tower, with Mars being the corresponding planet. This is partly where the 7 draws its individualistic nature. The Tower, 16, is also the archetypal realm that rules anger, angst, anxiety, etc. We can see from our analysis that the 7 has an introverted and contemplative nature, but there is also a particular "standing out" nature indicated by this connection to 16. This sense of "sticking out" like a sore thumb can sometimes lead to the 7 developing an anxious disposition when dealing with other people. But, it all depends. Certain 7s may actually love being around people and enjoy whatever bumpy rides might come out of it.

If we look at the Modality page, we see that 7 is within the 4-7-10 column (also take note of the 1st column of cards in the Numerology section of the Major Arcana page). We could say that the 7 indeed has the "Olympian energy" of the 4, and also the diverse talents of the 10. The difference with the 7, though, is that attention is geared more inward toward the functions of dynamic creation in the Universe, of one's own nature and also human nature in general. The more extrovert "flame" of the 4, which seems to have an unlimited amount of energy to draw from and that can withstand things that may make other numbers buckle, is present in the 7 as well. But for the 7 this dynamism is less "active" in a way. While the 7 does have access to these vast amounts of energies indicated by the 4-7-10 Modality column, and also the 1st column of cards as seen on the Major Arcana section, the 7 is the one to "unplug," so to speak, and really contemplate this dynamic in solitude. There is much going on beneath the surface of the 7, and it is important for him or her to bring their vision of the dynamism inherent in the 4-7-10 Modality column into the world instead of feeling as if they are "sitting on something of great value" but maybe lacking confidence in the delivery of it. The saving grace of the 7 is
patience and his or her ability to study a subject or generally see things so deeply and clearly that all angles are eventually covered.

Useful cards for the 7 to contemplate are found within the 1st column of cards in the Numerology section of the Major Arcana page. This is the column of 1-4-7-10-13-16-19-22, or, The Magician, The Emperor, The Chariot, Fortune, Death, The Tower, The Sun and The Fool. The cards most harmonically aligned to the 7 within this series are The Chariot and The Tower, though contemplation of all 8 cards is recommended.
