~9~
Yesod/The Foundation

Picture
Your Decanate Number is 9 which corresponds to the 9th Sephirah Yesod or The Foundation on the Tree of Life. The number 9 is a humanitarian number and is also connected to The Hermit card of the Major Arcana. The Hebrew letter assigned to The Hermit card is Yod which means "hand." This can be thought of as the "Helping Hand", that which is always there to pull one up out of the gutter, to care for and pull one further up the 'mountain'. This is why in many Tarot decks the Hermit is portrayed as being up on a mountain with a light or lantern to help guide those who are 'below', yet still aspiring to climb. 9s help others help themselves with this light, and are good at helping others recuperate from injury or illness making them naturally good nurses, vets, doctors or other health practitioners.

9s are predominately concerned with the good of All, are naturally great researchers and scientists, and can possess many diverse abilities. They are refined, graceful, and enjoy the High Arts. Since 9s are harmonically aligned with 'The Foundation', they may become elitist, believing only they know the proper way 'up the mountain.'

The 9 rules service, humanity, and also integration. 9s generally posses high etiquette but may become overly concerned with it. Since 9s see the big picture so well and want solutions and remedies which benefit all, this may translate into all areas of life. What this means is that a 9 may want everyone to be more 'like them' so that they can take a break from their service capacity of always having to be the one to 'help others' and show them the way. 9s easily see how others sabotage themselves in their aspirations, and if they can avoid the air of elitism, their advice and helpful hand will be graciously accepted and can even be a 'god send' to those who are in desperate need of such help.

On the Modality page, we see that 9 is part of the 3-6-9 column (also take note of the 3rd column of cards in the Numerology section on the Major Arcana page). This column is all about togetherness, groups, communications, arts, beauty, crafts, displays, shows, broadcasts, synthesis and integration. For the 9, the dynamic is particularly geared toward healing, generosity, and finding solutions that would benefit others or society as a whole.  Other people generally feel it very deeply when a 9 is giving them close attention. They possess great
care and pay close attention to detail. This is where their abilities of healing can shine. Note that a 9 does not necessarily have to become a professional healer. As stated, people can begin to feel "healed" by a 9 simply giving them close attention.

The 9 is also numerologically connected to the 18th card of the Major Arcana, The Moon. This is a card of the subconscious, and of the
light
that is "hidden" beneath or behind the different forms and archetypes of the psyche. This may be read about in depth in the Neptune section of the Planets page under 'Alpha and Omega of Soul Development.' The healing and humanitarian nature of the 9 goes so deep partly because of this connection. As seen in that section, the medical Rx symbol comes directly from the interplay between the depth of The Moon and the brightness of The Sun, in a sense "resurrecting" what seems sickly into new and vibrant life. There is a particular "alchemy of the soul" available for the healing and humanitarian 9 to work with in other words. Of course anyone may align themselves with these meanings and gain from them, but for a 9 it is "in the blood" one could say.

Useful cards for the 9 to contemplate are within the 3rd column of cards in the Numerology section of the Major Arcana page. This is the column of 3-6-9-12-15-18-21, or, The Empress, The Lovers, The Hermit, The Hanged Man, The Devil, The Moon, and The Universe. The cards most harmonically aligned to the 9 within this series are The Hermit and The Moon, though a contemplation of all 7 cards is recommended.
