The Earth

Picture
The Earth, oddly enough, is rarely spoken of in astrological texts even though its importance is obvious, being the ever shifting reference point from which we judge the movement of all the other bodies in the solar system. The fact is that just as everyone has their own Sun Sign, they also have their own Earth Sign, which is indicated by the sign directly opposite of their Sun placement. The Earth sign acts as an evolving agent for the personality, pushing it beyond its comfort zones while also helping one become oriented and grounded within the whole, to holistically assimilate the energy and experiences indicative of their Sun placement and to bring it all "down to Earth" within the realm of visceral experience. The Earth sign always teaches the individual that there are further horizons yet to be experienced and realized. It is there to download the highly energetic and radiant Sun placement, and to merge it with one's natural instincts and intuition.
